Virginia spent decades advocating for AAPI issues and working with the Organization of Chinese Americans at both the state and national level. She has served as OCA-NJ President twice, OCA National VP of Chapter Development, OCA National VP of Finance, and OCA-NJ Chapter Advisor.
In 2001, she founded the OCA-NJ Scholarship Program, specifically designed to assist Asian American graduating seniors in financing their college education. In support of this, she created and planned the OCA-NJ Annual Holiday Ball, the proceeds of which directly benefit the Scholarship Program.
In honor of Virginia's lifetime of advocacy, OCA-NJ has created a new scholarship named in her memory - the "VIRGINIA L NG FOUNDER'S SCHOLARSHIP." A generous gift from Maureen Farrell and Alan Kenny, prominent OCA members, made possible for us to share this exciting new program with Virginia before her passing.
If Virginia has touched your life in some way, please consider continuing her legacy of AAPI advocacy and education by donating to this scholarship fund. You can do so by clicking on the button "CONTRIBUTE TO VIRGINIA'S NAMESAKE SCHOLARSHIP" above. Your donation would allow future generations to pursue college degrees in honor of her tireless dedication.
OCA-NJ is a registered 501(c)(3), and contributions to the "Virginia L. Ng Founder's Scholarship Fund" may be tax-deductible - please consult with your accountant or tax preparer. For more information about OCA-NJ, you can click on the link below.
